Crixivan Drug Interactions

Erectile dysfunction medications, certain calcium channel blockers, and other protease inhibitors may interact with Crixivan. Drug interactions may affect of the level of medicines in your blood and increase your risk of developing serious side effects. Other medicines that may cause negative Crixivan interactions include trazodone, immune-suppressing medications, delavirdine, and certain antifungals or antibiotics.

 

Crixivan Drug Interactions: An Introduction

Crixivan® (indinavir sulfate) can potentially interact with several other medicines. Some of these medicines that may lead to Crixivan interactions include:
 
  • Certain antibiotics and antifungal medications, such as:

 

    • Clarithromycin (Biaxin®)
    • Ketoconazole (Nizoral®)
    • Itraconazole (Sporanox®)
    • Rifabutin (Mycobutin®)
    • Rifampin (Rifadin®)

 

  • Certain arrhythmia medications, including amiodarone (Cordarone®), lidocaine, and quinidine
     
  • Certain benzodiazepines, including:

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Ergot medications, such as:

 

    • Bromocriptine (Parlodel®)
    • Dihydroergotamine (Migranal®)
    • Ergonovine
    • Ergotamine (Bellamine S®, Cafergot®, Ergomar®)
    • Methylergonovine (Methergine®)
    • Pergolide (Permax®)

 

  • Fluticasone (Flonase®, Flovent®, Veramyst®) or combination medications that contain fluticasone (Advair®)
  • Immune-suppressing medications, including:

 

    • Cyclosporine (Gengraf®, Neoral®, Sandimmune®)
    • Sirolimus (Rapamune®)
    • Tacrolimus (Prograf®)

 

 

 

  • Pimozide (Orap®)
  • Seizure medications
  • Some statin medications, including:
