HIV Statistics

At the end of 2003, an estimated 1,039,000 to 1,185,000 persons in the United States were living with HIV/AIDS, with 24 percent to 27 percent undiagnosed and unaware of their HIV infection. In 2003, there were an estimated 59 AIDS cases in children under the age of 13. The cumulative estimated number of deaths of people with AIDS through 2003 is 524,060.
