Foscarnet (Foscavir)
Taking Hivid with foscarnet may increase the risk of peripheral neuropathy (unusual sensations, such as burning, tingling, numbness, or pain, in the hands or feet). If possible, these medications should not be used together.

Hydralazine (Dralzine)
Taking Hivid with hydralazine may increase the risk of peripheral neuropathy (unusual sensations, such as burning, tingling, numbness, or pain in the hands or feet). If possible, these medications should not be used together.

Lamivudine (Epivir) or Combination Medications With Lamivudine (Combivir, Trizivir)
Taking lamivudine with Hivid can make both medications less effective. Hivid should not be taken with any medication that contains lamivudine.

Metoclopramide can decrease the absorption of Hivid into your bloodstream, possibly making it less effective. Check with your healthcare provider before taking these medications together.

Pentamidine (Pentam)
Combining pentamidine (when given by IV) with Hivid can increase the risk of inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis), which can be very dangerous. Hivid should be temporarily stopped if pentamidine use is absolutely necessary.

Phenytoin (Dilantin, Phenytek)
Taking Hivid with phenytoin may increase the risk of peripheral neuropathy (unusual sensations, such as burning, tingling, numbness, or pain, in the hands or feet). If possible, these medications should not be used together.
