Intelence Drug Interactions

A number of medications may interact with Intelence. Drug interactions may occur if the HIV medicine is taken in combination with protease inhibitors, certain antibiotics and antifungals, or erectile dysfunction medications. These interactions could affect the drug levels in your blood, which may decrease the effectiveness of the medications.

Intelence Interactions: An Introduction

Intelence (etravirine) can potentially interact with several other medicines. Some of these medicines that may lead to Intelence interactions include:
 
  • Certain antibiotics and antifungal medications, such as:

 

    • Clarithromycin (Biaxin®)
    • Fluconazole (Diflucan®)
    • Itraconazole (Sporanox®)
    • Ketoconazole (Nizoral®)
    • Posaconazole (Noxafil®)
    • Rifabutin (Mycobutin®)
    • Rifampin (Rifadin®)
    • Rifapentine (Priftin®)
    • Voriconazole (Vfend®)

 

  • Certain arrhythmia medications, including:

 

    • Amiodarone (Cordarone®)
    • Bepridil (Vascor®)
    • Disopyramide (Norpace®, Norpace CR)
    • Flecainide (Tambocor)
    • Lidocaine (Xylocaine®)
    • Mexiletine (Mexitil®)
    • Propafenone (Rythmol®, Rythmol SR)
    • Quinidine

 

  • Certain immunosuppressants, such as:

 

    • Cyclosporine (Gengraf®, Neoral®, Sandimmune®)
    • Sirolimus (Rapamune®)
    • Tacrolimus (Prograf®)

 

  • Certain seizure medications, including:

 

 

 

 

  • Other NNRTI medications (similar to Intelence), such as:

 

 

  • Protease inhibitors, such as:
