Can I Take My Medications With Isentress?

Phenytoin
Theoretically, phenytoin may decrease the level of Isentress in your blood, making it less effective. However, this interaction has not been adequately studied, so it is difficult to predict exactly how these medications will interact. Check with your healthcare provider before taking these medications together.

Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs)
PPIs may increase the absorption of Isentress into your system. However, no dosage adjustment is recommended.

Rifampin
Rifampin decreases the level of Isentress in the blood, possibly making it less effective. If you take rifampin, a higher Isentress dosage is recommended.

Tipranavir Combined With Ritonavir
Taking Isentress with tipranavir and ritonavir can lower the level of Isentress in your blood. However, studies have shown that these medications can usually be combined without making Isentress less effective.
