AIDS Home > Drug Combinations With Crixivan to Avoid

Some Statin Medications
Crixivan should never be combined with lovastatin or simvastatin, due to the risk of dangerous side effects. Since Crixivan may increase the level of atorvastatin or rosuvastatin in your blood, your healthcare provider may recommend a lower atorvastatin or rosuvastatin dosage.

St. John's Wort
Because St. John's wort can greatly reduce the level of Crixivan in your blood, these medications should never be taken together.

Trazodone (Desyrel) or Trazodone ER (Oleptro)
Crixivan can increase the level of trazodone in your blood. Check with your healthcare provider before taking trazodone with Crixivan.

Venlafaxine (Effexor, Effexor XR)
Venlafaxine may decrease the level of Crixivan in your blood, possibly decreasing its effectiveness. Check with your healthcare provider before taking these medications together.

Final Thoughts on Crixivan Drug Interactions

It is possible that not every drug interaction with Crixivan was discussed in this article. Therefore, you should talk with your pharmacist or healthcare provider about the Crixivan drug interactions that may apply to you.
