Less Common Side Effects of Kaletra
Rare Kaletra side effects occur in less than 2 percent of people taking the drug in addition to any other HIV medications. Because these side effects are so uncommon, it is difficult to determine whether they are actually caused by Kaletra or something else.
These rare reactions include but are not limited to:
- Back pain
- Varicose veins
- Dry mouth
- Low thyroid (hypothyroidism)
- Weight gain
- A spinning sensation (vertigo)
- Sinus infection
- Ringing in the ears (tinnitus).
You may experience some or none of the side effects listed in this article. Unfortunately, it can be difficult to tell whether any particular side effect (such as nausea) is actually caused by Kaletra or other factors.
Therefore, make sure to let your healthcare provider know if you develop any side effects while taking the drug or if something "just does not seem right." While it may not be related to Kaletra, your healthcare provider will be able to diagnose and treat the problem.
