Megace 40 Mg

Available by prescription only, Megace® (megestrol acetate) comes as an oral suspension that is given to help stimulate appetite and cause weight gain in people with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). This medicine also comes as tablets, which are approved to treat the symptoms of breast cancer or endometrial cancer (cancer of the lining of the uterus).
Available as a 40-mg-per-mL liquid, Megace oral suspension is usually taken once daily. The tablets come in 20-mg and 40-mg strengths, and are taken several times a day. The tablets are only available in generic form. Your specific dosage will depend on which product you are using, how you respond to the medication, and various other factors.
