Megace and Irregular Heartbeat

Taking Megace® (megestrol acetate) can cause an irregular heartbeat in some people. However, this is a potentially serious side effect of the medication. If you are taking this drug and develop an irregular or forcefully beating heart, let your healthcare provider know right away.

In most cases, side effects of Megace tend to be mild and treated easily. Because it is difficult to predict whether you will develop problems while taking this drug, tell your healthcare provider if you experience anything that "just does not seem right."
