Additional Medicines That React With Norvir

Digoxin
Norvir may increase the level of digoxin in your blood, possibly increasing your risk of dangerous digoxin side effects. Your healthcare provider should monitor the level of digoxin in your blood and adjust your dose as necessary.
 
Disulfiram
Both Norvir capsules and oral solution contain alcohol. Do not take Norvir and disulfiram together, as dangerous side effects may occur due to the alcohol in Norvir.
 
Dronabinol
Norvir may increase the level of dronabinol in your blood. Your healthcare provider may need to decrease your dronabinol dosage to prevent this.
 
Ergot Medications
Norvir should not be combined with ergot medications, due to the risk of dangerous side effects.
 
Fentanyl
Norvir tends to increase fentanyl levels, potentially increasing the risk of dangerous side effects, unless the fentanyl dosage is adjusted accordingly.
  
Fluticasone or Combination Medications That Contain Fluticasone
Norvir may increase the level of fluticasone in your blood. Check with your healthcare provider before taking these medications together. In general, it is not recommended to combine such medications unless absolutely necessary.
 
Hormonal Contraceptives
Norvir may make hormonal contraceptives less effective. Therefore, you should use a non-hormonal method of contraception (such as condoms) while taking Norvir.
 
Immune-Suppressing Medications
Norvir may increase the level of some immune-suppressing medications in your blood. Your healthcare provider may need to decrease the dose of your immune-suppressing medication to prevent this interaction from occurring.
