Other Facts About Norvir Drug Interactions

Propoxyphene Medications
Norvir may increase the level of propoxyphene in your blood. Your healthcare provider may need to lower your propoxyphene dosage to prevent this interaction from occurring.
Norvir can increase the level of quinine in your blood, and your healthcare provider may need to decrease your quinine dosage to prevent this.
Norvir may decrease the level of raltegravir in the blood, perhaps making it less effective. Consult your healthcare provide before combining these drugs.
Norvir may increase the level of rivaroxaban in the blood, perhaps increasing the risk of serious bleeding. Consult your healthcare provider before combining these drugs.
Combining salmeterol with Norvir may increase the risk of serious side effects of salmeterol (especially heart problems). Check with your healthcare provider before taking such medications together.
Seizure Medications
Norvir can increase or decrease the level of seizure medications in your blood. Check with your healthcare provider before taking Norvir with a seizure medication, as your dosage may need to be adjusted.
Some Statin Medications
Norvir should never be combined with lovastatin or simvastatin, due to the risk of dangerous side effects. Since Norvir may increase the level of atorvastatin or rosuvastatin in your blood, your healthcare provider may recommend a lower dose of these medications.
St. John's Wort
Because St. John's wort can greatly reduce the level of Norvir in your blood, these medications should never be taken together.
