Drugs That Interfere With Prezista

Prezista Interactions Explained

The following sections explain in detail the potentially negative interactions that can occur when Prezista is combined with any of the drugs listed above.

Alfuzosin
You should not take Prezista and alfuzosin together, as life-threatening reactions (such as dangerously low blood pressure) may result.

Bosentan
Prezista may increase the level of bosentan in your blood. Your healthcare provider may need to lower your bosentan dosage while you are taking Prezista.

Calcium Channel Blockers
Prezista may increase the level of calcium channel blockers in your blood, potentially increasing the risk of side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to lower the dose of your calcium channel blocker to prevent this interaction from occurring.

Certain Antibiotics or Antifungals
Combining Prezista with certain antibiotics or antifungals may increase or decrease the level of both Prezista and the antibiotic or antifungal in your blood. Check with your healthcare provider before taking Prezista with any of these medications. It should never be combined with rifampin, since rifampin may make Prezista less effective.

Certain Arrhythmia Medications
Prezista may increase the level of certain arrhythmia medications in your blood, possibly increasing the risk of dangerous side effects. Talk with your healthcare provider before taking Prezista with one of these medications.

Certain Benzodiazepines
