Important Instructions on Prezista

When and How to Take Prezista

General considerations for when and how to take Prezista include the following:

  • The medication comes in tablet and oral suspension (liquid) form. It is usually taken by mouth once or twice daily.

  • Prezista should be taken with food.

  • For the liquid form, be sure to shake it well right before each dose.

  • Try to take Prezista at the same times every day to maintain an even level in your blood.

  • For the medication to work properly, it must be taken as prescribed. It is important that you closely follow your healthcare provider's instructions about taking Prezista. Missing doses can increase the chance of the virus developing resistance to the medication, thereby making it less effective.
