Trizivir Drug Interactions (Cont.)

 
Valganciclovir (Valcyte)
Combining valganciclovir with Trizivir may increase your risk of Trizivir side effects, particularly side effects that affect blood cells. Your healthcare provider may need to monitor your blood counts very closely.
 
Valproic Acid (Depakene) or Divalproex Sodium (Depakote, Depakote ER)
Valproic acid or divalproex sodium can increase the level of Trizivir in your blood, increasing your risk of side effects. Talk with your healthcare provider before taking these medications together.
 
Zalcitabine (Hivid)
Combining Trizivir with zalcitabine may make both medications less effective. In general, these mediations should not be used together.
