Truvada Drug Interactions

Atazanavir, valacyclovir, and lamivudine products may potentially interact with Truvada. Drug interactions such as these could lead to increased levels of Truvada in the blood, which may increase your risk of developing serious side effects. To help prevent negative Truvada drug interactions, be sure to tell your healthcare provider about all other medications you are currently taking.

 

Truvada Drug Interactions: An Overview

Truvada® (emtricitabine and tenofovir disoproxil fumarate) can potentially interact with several other medicines. Some of the medicines that may lead to Truvada drug interactions include:
 
 
 
  • Cidofovir (Vistide®)
  • Ganciclovir (Cytovene®)
  • Lamivudine products, such as:
 
 
  • Ribavirin (Copegus®, Rebetol®, Ribasphere®, Virazole®)
  • Valacyclovir (Valtrex®)
  • Valganciclovir (Valcyte™).
