Videx Drug Interactions

Videx can interact with other drugs, such as certain antifungal medications, antacids that contain aluminum or magnesium, and alcohol. Some of these Videx drug interactions can alter the amount of the medications in your blood, increasing your risk of side effects or causing the medications to become less effective. To avoid these complications, be sure to talk to your healthcare provider (prior to taking Videx) about any drug interactions that may apply to you.

 

Videx Drug Interactions: An Introduction

Videx® (didanosine) can potentially interact with a few other medicines. Some of these medicines that may lead to Videx interactions include:
 
  • Alcohol
  • Allopurinol (Aloprim™, Zyloprim®)
  • Antacids that contain aluminum or magnesium
  • Certain antifungal medications, including:

 

    • Itraconazole (Sporanox®)
    • Ketoconazole (Nizoral®)

 

 

    • Demeclocycline (Declomycin®)
    • Doxycycline (Adoxa®, Doryx®, Doxy-100®, Monodox®, Oracea™, Periostat®, Vibramycin®)
    • Minocycline (Dynacin®, Minocin®, Solodyn™)
    • Tetracycline (Sumycin®) 

 

  • Valganciclovir (Valcyte™).
