More Medications That Interfere With Viracept

Fluticasone or Combination Medications That Contain Fluticasone
Viracept may increase the level of fluticasone in your blood. Check with your healthcare provider before taking Viracept with fluticasone.
 
Immune-Suppressing Medications
Viracept may increase the level of some immune-suppressing medications in your blood. Your healthcare provider may need to decrease the dose of your immune-suppressing medication.
 
Methadone (Dolophine, Methadose)
Viracept may decrease the level of methadone in your blood. Your healthcare provider may need to increase your methadone dosage.
 
Nevirapine (Viramune)
Nevirapine can decrease the level of Viracept in your blood. Your healthcare provider may need to increase your Viracept dosage or recommend a different combination of medications.
 
Oral Contraceptives (Birth Control Pills)
Viracept may make oral contraceptives less effective. You should use a non-hormonal method of contraception (such as condoms) while taking Viracept.
 
Other Protease Inhibitors
Taking Viracept together with another protease inhibitor may increase the level of both medications in your blood. Check with your healthcare provider before taking two protease inhibitors together.
 
Phosphodiesterase Type 5 Inhibitors (PDE5 Inhibitors)
Viracept can increase the level of PDE5 inhibitors in your blood, increasing your risk of side effects. You should not take more than 25 mg of sildenafil in 48 hours, 10 mg of tadalafil in 72 hours, or 2.5 mg of vardenafil in 72 hours while taking Viracept.
 
Pimozide (Orap)
Pimozide and Viracept should not be taken together, due to the risk of dangerous reactions.
