Side Effects of Viracept to Report

There are a number of side effects with Viracept that you should report to your healthcare provider. These include, but are not limited to:
 
  • High blood sugar (hyperglycemia)
  • Any unusual bleeding or bruising
  • Changes in the distribution of fat on your body (such as a "buffalo hump")
  • Anxiety or depression
  • Kidney stones
  • Seizures
  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Signs of an allergic reaction, such as a rash, hives, itching, swelling of the mouth or throat, wheezing, or difficulty breathing.

Less Common Viracept Side Effects

There are other less common Viracept side effects that can occur. These side effects occur in less than 2 percent of people taking Viracept. For these side effects, it is difficult to tell whether they are actually caused by Viracept or something else.

Final Thoughts on Viracept Side Effects

It is possible that you may experience some or none of the Viracept side effects listed in this article. Unfortunately, it can be difficult to tell whether any particular side effect (such as nausea) is actually caused by Viracept or other factors. Therefore, make sure to let your healthcare provider know if you develop any side effects while taking Viracept or if something "just does not seem right." While it may not be a side effect, your healthcare provider will be able to diagnose and treat the problem.
